An Interview with Soda: Life as a Thai Masseuse in Sydney

Updated: 6 days ago

At the end of a busy shift, hair down, makeup fading and cleavage ready to spill out, a warm spirit with a classically intoxicating Thai smile is blaring in my direction. Soda is a skilled Thai masseuse whose passion for her craft, vibrant personality, and fascinating journey have made her a favorite among her clients. For years now, she has been one of the most famous girls in Sydney. Balancing a busy schedule across several Sydney locations, Soda shares insights into her life, her work, and her unique approach to Thai massage.

Q: Where are you from?

Soda: I’m from Thailand! Growing up there really shaped my passion for Thai massage. It’s such a special part of our culture, and I’m proud to share it with people here.

Q: Why did you choose to live in Sydney?

Soda: Sydney is a wonderful place with so many opportunities. The people are great, and it’s been an amazing city for my work.

Q: Are you happy with the work you do?

Soda: Oh yes, I’m very, very happy! I love my job so much. It’s such a great feeling to know that I can help people feel relaxed, happy, and completely stress-free.

Q: What happened during your first day on the job?

Soda: [Laughing] Oh, it was an experience I’ll never forget! I was new and didn’t know how everything worked, so I just went with the flow. He smelled really good and let’s just say I got carried away.. I learned a lot that day! He said he would come back tomorrow and pay and I believed him! After a few days, someone explained how things really worked, and everything became much easier.

Q: What do you enjoy most about your job?

Soda: I love meeting new people and helping them feel better. Thai massage is an amazing art, and it’s so rewarding to know I’ve made someone’s day with my hands and techniques.

Q: What’s your favorite food?

Soda: Definitely som tum! It’s a spicy green papaya salad that’s so fresh and flavorful. I love the balance of spicy, sour, and sweet—it’s just perfect.

Q: What’s the funniest thing that’s ever happened at work?

Soda: One time, I had a customer who was so ticklish that he couldn’t stop laughing during the massage. It was so contagious that I ended up laughing with him the whole time!

Q: What do you find most attractive in a man?

Soda: I like a man who is confident and strong, someone who knows how to make a woman feel special. That kind of energy is very attractive to me.

Q: What do you not like in a man?

Soda: I don’t like men who talk too much or try to control women. That kind of attitude is a turnoff. And I really don’t like it when someone is always complaining about money!

Q: Where is your favorite shop to work right now?

Soda: I love all the shops I work at! I choose to work at the best ones, and I’m lucky to be at six different locations.

Q: What is the craziest experience you’ve had at work?

Soda: Oh, one time a customer booked three girls for his birthday! It was such a wild experience and definitely intense for everyone. But we made sure it was a birthday he wouldn’t forget!

Interviewer: Wow, that sounds like quite the celebration!

Soda: [Laughing] Yes, it’s one of those moments I’ll always remember.

Q: What would you like for Christmas?

Soda: A thoughtful surprise would be lovely! I love anything that makes my work easier or adds a little extra joy to my day.

Q: Where can customers find you?

Soda: I work at different shops throughout the week, so there are plenty of chances to see me!

Let me know if you’d like any further adjustments!

Soda’s Fun Closing Note:

Every day at work is different, and I love that. The first client of the day always sets the tone—sometimes it’s calm and simple, and other times it’s full of energy. That’s what makes my job so exciting! A big tip to start the day means the whole day will be successful.

Soda’s warm personality, experience and dedication to her craft make her a standout in Sydney’s massage scene. If you’re looking for a relaxing and professional massage experience, check out her schedule and visit one of her locations—you’ll leave feeling refreshed and cared for.

Nice interview and a great idea. I’ve read about Soda previously and wasn’t sure if it was a hit and miss occurrence where she’d be. I’ll make a point of seeing her very soon.
